Harvey Bourne

Harvey is responsible for the overall leadership, management and academic development of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Harvey has an extensive background in teaching and working in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining QRC, Harvey was the Programme Director for Catering, Hospitality, Tourism and Travel at Massey University. Harvey is a fully qualified chef and his career highlights include a term as Executive Chef at New Zealand’s Government House.

John Cushen

John was a secondary teacher and deputy principal for many years at Kings High School, Dunedin. He has been working in the Tourism sector for the past ten years and has spent 4 of these captaining a 17 metre power catamaran throughout the Mediterranean and Bahama's. John has previously managed the luxury- Wilderness Lodge in the Arthur's Pass and has over 5 years involvement in Queenstown company Real Journeys, being involved in everything from Nature Guiding, skippering vessels, staff training, product development to writing interpretation's for their guided nature walks.

Donna Skoropada
B.A, Dip Tchg, Cert TESOL
Donna was a secondary teacher and deputy principal for many years. She has been working in the tertiary education sector for the past six years as an assessment consultant, moderator and programme manager. Her major educational interests are in teacher development, assessment practice, and quality assurance. Prior to joining QRC, Donna was Acting Manager for Tertiary Assessment and Moderation for the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

Dr. Susan Houge
Ph.D: Sport Psychology & Adventure Tourism
American – born Susan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to QRC. She has extensive industry experience including working as a Senior Guide with Queenstown riversurfing company Frogz Have More Fun.
Susan has recently completed her Ph.D: Sport Psychology & Adventure Tourism through Otago University and in addition to teaching has had considerable input into the designing of a number of key papers offered at QRC.

Paul Tudgay
Paul has 18 years experience in the hospitality industry including; working as a maitre d, bar manager and restaurant manager. He has worked in 5 star properties like Fountain Bleu Hilton Miami, The Hotel d'France in Jersey and the Chateau de la Mare, also in Jersey. He has worked as bar manager and maitre d of the Boardwalk Seafood Restaurant and as Cellar Door manager for Waitiri Creek Wines. Paul is a qualified Sommelier and currently works as a Sales Representative for Cellarworks Wines.
