Career Week

Career Week provides Year 13 students from all over New Zealand with the opportunity to explore the thriving hospitality and tourism industries, learning about careers in hotel management and adventure tourism management and discovering first-hand if it is where their future lies. Come and familiarise yourself with QRC before making the most important decision of your life.

What to expect

During the week's fully supervised activities, you can expect to:

  • Find out about the different career paths offered within the tourism and hospitality industries
  • Visit leading hotel and tourism operations, with behind the scenes tours
  • Hear from industry professionals
  • Tour QRC House
  • Visit our student residence QRC Lodge
  • Learn about QRC's internationally recognised Diplomas of Hospitality Management and Adventure Tourism Management and hear about internship opportunities
  • Meet QRC staff and students through a variety of classroom and social activities
  • Free time to explore cosmopolitan Queenstown and all it has to offer
  • A farewell dinner on the Thursday night (your parents / guardians are also invited)

Start Dates

The 2010 Start Dates are:

  • April 6-9
  • July 6-9
  • September 28- October 1

Cost

Career Week costs $200 per person (including GST) and includes three nights lodge-style accommodation, meals and scheduled activities. It does not include travel to and from Queenstown.

Career Weeks are usually fully subscribed, so we recommend applying as soon as possible. Otherwise you may be put on a wait-list or transferred to a later Career Week if there is space.
