Adventure tourists travel to a destination primarily to participate in outdoor activities which involve a combination of physical activity, exertion, risk (real or perceived) and thrill. As such, adventure tourism management requires knowledge, skills and understanding in six core areas:

  • Social and global contexts
  • Business management
  • Communication skills
  • Operational management
  • Resource management
