Course Description

Event Management is a people business. You are modifying minds and fulfilling dreams. From small intimate events to those on a grand scale, the demands placed on the event manager are increasing at an unrelenting pace; the lead time before events is shrinking, there are greater expectations of instant gratification, an increased focus on the celebration of life and increased risk management.

Place those demands in the context of increased competition, the impact of the internet and a proliferation of rules and regulations and the role of event manager becomes complex and multi-functional.

This course delves into the complexities of event management to give a comprehensive picture of how to organise a successful event. You will take the simple ideas that really work and understand the concept of packaging and repackaging. Through anecdotes and real life examples, you will come to understand that ‘less is more' and ‘small is the new big', thus learning how to craft an event that will stun participants.

Practical workshops will allow you to test your ability to cover all logistics under the tutelage of one of the country's most expert craftsmen.

Who is the course designed for?

For those who are responsible for events, or responsible for some integral part of an event. This may include Executive personal assistants charged with organising office and other corporate functions, people working in F&B, C&I, marketing, entertainment or any role where you need to make an event happen.

Benefits

This course will make you question established processes in your work environment and provide you with tools to streamline them. You will be better equipped to anticipate problems and more attuned to what it takes to improve financial performance. You will appreciate the functions that others play in making your event a success and learn how to successfully manage those functional relationships. You will hone your planning skills and also learn the discipline of evaluating and reporting on how successful your event has been.

This course will open your eyes to new opportunities, new ways of looking at why you do what you do. It will give you renewed enthusiasm for event management and at best it will inspire you to greater achievements
