Qualification: Graduates will be awarded the Diploma of Hospitality Management from QRC (this is a Level 5 Diploma) as well as the Higher Diploma of Hospitality Management from ICMS in association with Cesar Ritz Colleges, Switzerland.
Pathways: Bachelors degree in business majoring in hospitality management. You will need a Grade Point Average of 2.5 to enter into the ICMS/Macquarie degree programme.

Course Length: 2 years of full-time study, including 6-9 months of paid internship training
Entry Requirements:

18 years of age at course commencement (some discretion for domestic enrolments).

This is a LEVEL 5 Diploma. To gain entry into this programme, you must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Satisfactory high school record to NZ Year 12, with passes in English and Mathematics
  • For NCEA: 48 level 2 credits over 4 subjects including 4 level 2 credits in reading and 4 level 2 credits in writing; candidates also need 14 level 1 credits (or equivalent) in Mathematics
  • For International Baccalaureate (IB): At least 3 passes in SL subjects including Mathematics and English
  • For Cambridge/CIE: CIE (Cambridge International Exam) candidates must attain at least 60 UCAS points (from the UCAS Tariff) over two or more subjects and have IGCSE Mathematics Grade D or better and AS English Language or AS English Literature with Grade E or better.

If English is not your first language, you will need English language proficiency of IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.0 in each band (and 6.0 in speaking) OR an equivalent English language proficiency test.

An interview is required as part of the application process to assess your suitability for the hospitality industry and to answer any questions about the course.

Mature Domestic Students (20 years +) may be exempt from meeting the academic entry requirements if they can demonstrate relevant work experience and genuine commitment to the industry, through their CV and work references.

From 2009, all students are required to provide their own laptop computer.
