Based in the adventure capital of the world, QRC is the perfect place to learn about managing an adventure tourism business and, together with NZSki Ltd, it is the perfect place to learn about the snow sports industry.

The QRC Diploma of Adventure Tourism Management specialising in Snowsport Business Management has been specially designed to produce graduates who are not only passionate about the Snowsport Industry but who have strong business skills.

Graduates will have a solid understanding of the day to day operation and seasonality of a ski resort and will be equipped with the skills and qualifications to progress in career pathways in a competitive, challenging and exciting global industry.

The Programme at a glance

18 Months - Diploma of Adventure Tourism Management

  • 6 months Adventure Tourism and Business Management Papers
  • Winter season Paid Industry Training with NZSki Ltd*
  • 6 months Adventure Tourism and Business Management Papers
  • Second winter season placement with NZSki Ltd

*The opportunity exsists for students to commence the Diploma with an NZSki ltd internship starting in June before entering the College in October.

  • During your internship NZ Ski Ltd provide clothing as well as free ski passes, transport, and subsidised meals.
  • Students are able to gain access to a J 1 Visa enabling them to work in North American ski resorts such as Sun Valley, Idaho.
  • Includes the Pre-hospital Emergency Care Certificate, a key industry award.
  • Includes an 8-day outdoors experiential QRC Explorer programme in the stunning Southern Alps region.
  • International degree pathway to Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in British Columbia, Canada, ICMS (international College of Management, Sydney),and Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.
