QRC Hospitality Business Manager, Paul Tudgay wins 2010 Outstanding Hospitality Personality of the Year

QRC's resident sommelier, Teacher and Hospitality Business Manager Mr Paul Tudgay was voted by his peers within the local industry as the 2010 Outstanding Hospitality Personality of the Year at the inaugural Remarkables Southern Lakes Hospitality Awards last night.

The awards were organised by the Southern Lakes branch of the Hospitality Association of New Zealand and nominations were sought from throughout Wakatipu, Central Otago, the Southern Lakes, Te Anau, and Invercargill.

Paul is the region's leading wine educator and widely recognised by his colleagues and the local industry as and expert in his field. He holds a regular wine tasting evening at the college which attracts around 50 locals each week.

Paul is also the only sommelier in the south island with the license to run the Wines & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Intermediate Course.

The Outstanding Hospitality Personality was one of 12 categories on the night.

QRC congratulates all participants and finalists in this auspicious event.
