AICR Receptionist of the Year

Representing QRC at an international level, Hospitality Management students Emily McKane and Mitchell Dye have been nominated for AICR Australia’s 2015 Receptionist of the Year.

AICR Australia, the International Association for Deputy Managers and Front Office Managers of Luxury Hotels, hold the prestigious award to find Australia’s best luxury hotel receptionist, an individual who shows passion and dedication to the industry.

Beginning their Hospitality Management Diploma with QRC in January this year, Emily and Mitchell have been on internship at Pullman Melbourne on the Park, one of Melbourne’s iconic hotels, since July where they provide guests with exceptional front of house service and hospitality.

Mitchell, a 6 Star Hospitality Scholarship winner, has excelled in his studies at QRC and has been nominated for his high quality service and positive and professional impact on the team. Mitchell has experience in two boutique hotels in Queenstown and his passion for hospitality comes from his parents who also work in the industry.

Emily delivers an exceptional level of service, engaging guests in a sometimes stressful environment with her friendly personality and sense of humour. Emily is a great QRC ambassador and is also one of our top performing students, finishing her first semester studies in the top three of her class.

Candidates for Receptionist of the Year will be interviewed by a panel of 5 judges including previous winners of the award and the AICR President on subjects such as finance, staffing, marketing, their personal level of conduct and confidence as well as role playing a reception scenario.

The winner will be announced at a gala dinner in 2016 with the winner going on to represent Australia in the International Receptionist of the Year competition in Vienna.

Good luck Emily and Mitchell!
