Six Queenstown Resort College graduates are taking their careers to the next level with a Bachelor Degree from the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS).

After 6 months of study at ICMS the group will graduate with a Bachelor of Business Management, achieving a degree qualification in just 27 months of study (including the 21 month QRC Hospitality or Adventure Tourism Management Diploma).

  • Elysia Shettler – Hospitality Management Graduate, SixStar Scholarship

Elysia is studying for her Bachelor Degree while holding a position as a Team Leader at the Novotel Manly Pacific. Elysia’s plan for the future is to move to Europe and gain further experience in hotel management and eventually manage or own her own business.

“The QRC Diploma helped me specialise in Hospitality Management, understanding what my employees will be doing when I move on and up. The QRC Diploma also helped me to become a supervisor in the hotel and now I have the opportunity to grow with this company,” Elysia said.

  • Daniel Ryley – Hospitality Management Graduate, Southern Hospitality Scholarship

Packaging up his QRC Diploma studies, industry placement and core Degree subjects with ICMS, Daniel is well on his way to achieving his goal of owning and managing his own business in the future.

“I decided to take on further study here at ICMS because of the simplicity and convenience of gaining a degree in 6 months! Where else can that happen! A once in a lifetime opportunity,” Daniel said.

  • Anna Walker – Hospitality Management Graduate, SixStar Scholarship

Anna’s internship at InterContinental Wellington as a Guest Service Agent and work experience at One&Only Hayman Island has further cemented her passion for Hospitality Management. She’s aiming to fast track into management positions.

“I hope to get into Human Resources or Sales and Marketing within the industry once completing ICMS,” Anna said.

  • Jonathon Deakins – Adventure Tourism Management Graduate

Jonathan is aiming to diversify his career into Sales and Marketing or even move into the investment industry. During his Diploma internship, Jonathan gained great experience at NZSki and the Amora Hotel in Wellington.

“The Diploma helps short track the total amount of study time normally needed to gain a Bachelor Degree,” Jonathon said.

  • Stuart Keys – Hospitality Management Graduate

Stuart's QRC studies and industry training were the perfect introduction to further study at ICMS. His internship as a Concierge with Queenstown’s Sofitel Hotel and Spa was recognised by ICMS and counted towards his degree.

“Ideally I would like to own and operate my own business in the future and hopefully both QRC and ICMS will have set me on the right path to doing so,” Stuart said.

  • Adrian Quick – Adventure Tourism Management Graduate

Adrian’s strong interest in ski instructing took him to Whistler, Canada for his QRC internship. Now at ICMS, Adrian is aiming to push further into the business aspects of the snow sports industry and eventually become the head of a department.

“The QRC Diploma is more practical studies with things that you learn being more out in the field seeing how tourism companies operate,” Adrian said.
