QRC in the field: Intern Vid Kenia

Adventure Tourism Management student, Vid Kenia, is an intern with one of Queenstown's iconic tourism operators.

"My name is Vidhyut Kenia, I am from India and I’m studying Adventure Tourism Management at Queenstown Resort College. I’m currently working on a six month internship with AJ Hackett at the famous Kawarau bungy bridge in Queenstown.

I chose to come to QRC because I always wanted to make a career in tourism. I was working with a travel company in India and seeing my passion, they asked “why don’t you go and complete a qualification then continue.” This is how I landed at QRC.

With QRC I’m given the knowledge about everything, operations, accounts, everything that tourism is about. They help me understand the field, get better knowledge of the target market and what type of tourism I’m interested in. Actually this is very good to know as I want to set up my own business and this is the best thing that is going to help me!

I would definitely suggest other Indians come here because if you want to make a successful career in tourism, this is the right place. New Zealand and QRC are giving me a great opportunity to study and work here with the best company. What else would you ask for?"
